     Noteworthy Recent Developments

     Obtained $206,000 award in Title VII retaliaition case on behalf of plaintiff in Crumley v. Colorado State Board of Agriculture, Federal District Court.

     In defense of corporate client on Title VII religious discrimination claims, obtained a summary judgment ruling dismissing state claims and individual claims against president of company in Millazzo et al. v. Universal Traffic Service ; case is set for jury trial in August 2003 in Federal District Court.  Companion case, Grinestaff v. Universal Traffic Service , successfully dismissed in its entirety with an award of costs to corporate client.   

      On behalf of charter school client, Cesar Chavez Academy , successfully negotiated settlement agreement one day before arbitration and obtained $2.1 award of public school funds against Pueblo School District No. 60 under newly-enacted Charter School Act.                    

       Obtained ruling from the Colorado Court of Appeals, In re Marriage of Lucero, reversing Denver County District Court permanent orders on maintenance, child support (including the finding of voluntary under-employment) and property distribution.
